This is a bronze object from the Late Classical Period, 1000 - 1500 C.E. ostensibly from East Java. This piece came in a collection of assorted small bronzes.

Its function is not readily apparent. Nor has a cursory study of several existing collections of Indonesian classical art thrown any light on its purpose.

It has an excellent form and a fine patina.
