Conrad Bert grew up in Kansas. Later, he attended the University of Utah architecture school. He was an architectural and structural draftsman for the state of Utah, and held designing positions at several engineering companies. He often traveled throughout the Pacific rim, especially Indonesia. He created many ink and color pencil drawings and was extraordinarily prolific in producing jewelry designs. He worked as a silver smith for over thirty years.
This background in art and architecture along with structural design was put to creative use in his jewelry. He created many diverse designs for his clientele. Charley Hafen Jewelers bought some designs and commissioned others. Prior to Conrad's untimely passing away in 2004, he sold Charley Hafen a collection of Art Deco earring designs he called Future Deco. These designs have been faithfully reproduced in Karat gold according to original fabricated masters.
Conrad Bert was an exceptionally gifted artist and craftsman. He is sorely missed by all that knew him. But in realizing the designs he left, those designs will continue on.
