Creating beaded jewelry allows me to explore the attributes of natural elements, combining color, shape and texture in unexpected ways. The tactile nature of gemstones, metal, crystal, glass beads and naturally occurring stones and minerals intrigues me, and my designs showcase the natural beauty of these materials and their interplay with each other.
Originally from Southern California, Robyn moved to Utah twenty-two years ago. A licensed architect, she lives and works in Salt Lake City. She and her husband, Barry, manage their own architectural firm. The 12-person firm was established ten years ago and specializes in the design of municipal/civic and college/university projects.
Growing up on beaches of California instilled in Robyn an organic design ethic which is grounded in a love of natural materials, forms and systems. Two years ago, searching for a creative outlet in which she could relieve stress, she began designing jewelry. Her jewelry designs are a celebration of the uniqueness of nature, combining nature’s treasures in their natural state with those manipulated by man.
