	the wax A wax model is carved from hard machinist wax. The wax is capable of holding very fine detail. All the elements that were discussed with the customer are incorporated into this three dimensional model. The customer can see a three dimensional replica of their piece of jewelry before it enters the metal stage.
	The customer is able to put the ring on and determine if we have captured all the elements they had envisioned. Changes can be made to the wax to enhance fine details that can never be drawn in a picture. Once the wax is approved we move on to the metal stage.
